A refined Pinot Noir from Côte-de-Beaune’s northern slopes, crafted from 80-year-old vines. Aged 18 months (12 in oak, 6 in tank) and bottled unfiltered, it shows a garnet-red hue with deep purple highlights. The palate reveals generous red fruit and subtle spice, structured yet smooth with elegant intensity and fine balance.

Ned Notes: When I first tasted these wines at a large fair, Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne, held in Beaune,  I swooned! This is what Burgundy is about: purity of fragrance, beguiling layers of complexity and lissome, svelte tannins. With this in mind, the Dujardin style IS textbook. Perhaps this is a general statement about the wines rather than a specific tasting note for this one. So on to this: blue to purple fruits, with a forestry undertow and a sluice of orange zest for zing. Plump and a little loosely knit in that gulpable 2022 idiom, but bergamot and violet on the nose, perfumed and enchanting. The finish is impressively tenacious, drawn taut by an underlying lilt of freshness. Very difficult to settle on a single glass, this is supremely delicious! Slurpy, even. Sublimely simple, yet refined, all at once. A nightly house wine in a utopian idyll 92
